How to choose between Logs and Coal

Here at Logs West Midland, we sell many different types of fuel, including logs, coal and even charcoal for your BBQ. We also sell kindling, which can make it easier to light your fire. As you might expect, logs and coal are two of our most popular products (especially during the cold winter months). Both fuel types are very versatile and reliable: they can help heat your home, regardless of how harsh the weather is outside. But which option is right for you? Should you opt to heat your home with coal or keep your fires burning using wood? Each type of fuel has its own unique set of advantages.

Useful logs

Logs have a wonderfully rustic aesthetic. There is something undeniably pleasing about a crackling log fire on a chilly day. So logs are ideal if you want to use your fireplace to cultivate a sense of homely cosiness. Logs also produce less smoke and fewer pollutants than most types of coal when they are burned; they can be used in areas where the amount of smoke you can produce is legally restricted.

Efficient Coal

In comparison, coal tends to burn for longer than wood while also burning hotter. If you need to heat a large space, or keep a room warm for a long period of time, the superior thermal power and longevity of coal can work to your advantage.

In summary, we’d recommend using logs if you wish to preserve your home’s rustic appearance or if you need to limit the amount of pollution you produce. But we’d recommend using coal if you need to heat a larger property or keep your property warm over a longer period.

Whatever type of fuel you need, we can provide it. We supply fuel to areas all across the Midlands, including Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley and, of course, Wyre Forest. We have over 50 years’ experience trading in fuel, so you can guarantee that our products will be of impeccable quality.
